How long does A105-S2071 battery last and how to improve

Many people asked me that how long can a Toshiba Satellite A105-S2071 battery 4400mAh last that is really a common question, so this article will tell you can long can the A105-S2071 battery last and how to improve the laptop battery life span.
Most people buy laptops because they want to be portable. They want to move around the house or work in coffee shops or the library. Unfortunately, you can’t always get as much done as you want to, because you can’t always find a place to plug them in. This isn’t as good as it sounds though. The typical A105-S2071 battery (in a 14 or 15 inch laptop) is a 6-cell battery that lasts around 2 hours. They might last a little longer than that, or a little less. It depends on what you’re doing.
If you are pushing the laptop battery will drain faster. Just think about how you get tired faster when you run than when you walk. Luckily, you’re not stuck with that 2 hours. You have a couple of options.
First, you can always buy a second A105-S2071 battery. Then, when you’re about to run out of juice, just swap batteries. That will give you four hours.
Even better, you can buy a second A105-S2071 battery that’s a larger-capacity than your original Toshiba Laptop Battery. As I said, most batteries that come with laptops are 6-cell batteries. You can buy bigger cell batteries that will give you longer laptop battery life. You can buy these extended batteries from the laptop manufacturer, whether that’s Apple, Dell, HP, Sony, or whoever. They are more expensive, but they’re a good way to get more work done while you’re on the road.
Then you get longer A105-S2071 battery life because your laptop has two batteries. The laptop uses the modular Toshiba laptop battery first, just in case you want to use your optical drive. That way you will get the most laptop battery life possible, because the primary battery is not used until the modular bay Toshiba laptop battery is used up. First Recycling Facility for Lithium-Ion Vehicle Batteries

As the majority of the world’s auto industry moves toward all-electric and hybrid vehicles powered by lithium-ion batteries, lithium reserves have quickly become a valuable commodity. With China, Russia, and Bolivia holding a majority of these reserves, becoming dependent on these countries for lithium carbonate is a situation everyone else is trying desperately to avoid. To this end, the US Department of Energy has granted $9.5 million to a company in California that plans to build America’s first recycling facility for lithium-ion vehicle batteries.
The recipient of these funds, Anaheim-based Toxco, says it will use the grant money to expand on an existing facility in Lancaster, OH, that already recycles the lead-acid and nickel-metal hydride batteries used in today’s hybrid-electric vehicles. While the need to recycle lithium-ion batteries is fairly minute at the moment, the potential for a dramatic increase in demand on the commodity is becoming more likely by the day.
Toxco is already North America’s leading laptop battery recycler and has been recycling single-charge and rechargeable lithium batteries used in electronics devices and industrial applications since 1992. With such a sterling track record, it comes as no surprise that the Department of Energy is investing in Toxco to reduce America’s potential for dependence on other countries for what appears to be the oil of the future.

How to caculate your Dell battery run time

Take care of your Dell Laptop Battery and ensure that it will be ready to work properly when you need it most. Some general tips for laptop care include: avoid extreme temperatures, don't leave a laptop outside in cold weather or leave it in a hot car. Cold laptop battery can't create very much power and hot laptop batteries will discharge very quickly. Use electrical power when available to keep Dell battery charged. Don't let your laptop go for long periods of time without using the Dell laptop battery.
You may also want to know how to caculate your Dell battery run time. Laptop batteries have two main ratings on them: Volts and Amperes. Because size and weight of laptop batteries is limited when compared to larger batteries such as car batteries, most companies show their ratings with Volts and Milliamperes. One thousand Milliamperes equals 1 Ampere. When buying a laptop battery, select batteries with the most Milliamperes (or mAh). Batteries are also rated by Watt-Hours, perhaps the simplest rating of all. This is found by multiplying the Volts and the Amperes together. For example:
14.4 Volts, 4000mAh (Note: 4000mAh is equal to 4.0 Amperes).
14.4 x 4.0 = 57.60 Watt-Hours
Watt-Hours signifies the energy needed to power one watt for one hour. This laptop battery can power 57.60 watts for one hour. If your laptop runs at 20.50 watts, as an example, this Dell Laptop Battery could power your laptop for 2.8 hours.
Laptop batteries have finite life spans. Whether you use the power cord and remove the battery it will lengthen the life of the Dell battery. Li-Ion laptop battery lifespan is approximately 1000 charge cycles, or 2-4 years under normal operating conditions.
Keeping the Dell battery in a cool place can prolong its life but not in a period of extended storage. The Li-ion battery should be stored at 40 percent rather than full-charge state.
The battery ages even if not used. For best results, keep the Dell battery cool. In addition, store the battery at a 40 percent charge level. Never fully charge or discharge the Dell laptop battery before storage. The 40 percent charge assures a stable condition even if self-discharge robs some of the battery's energy. What to do when over charge Dell battery

It may happened to you that you forget to turn off your laptop charger, when you charge your Dell battery, then you may want to know what to do when over charge your laptop battery.
First it's important to understand what overcharging is:
Over-charging occurs when the charger keeps the Dell battery at a temperature that is warm to touch (body temperature) while in ready condition.
Li-Ion laptop batteries have built-in controller chips which prevent it from overcharging, as they can explode if overcharged. Overcharging does not affect the life span other than potentially destroying the Dell Laptop Battery.
A lithium-based battery should never be allowed to get warm in a charger. If you have this happen, the laptop battery is no good or the charger is not working properly. Don't continue to use the battery or charger if this happens.
A Lithium-ion battery may be damaged by extensive overcharging (continuously on a charger for more than 24 hours). Damage to the Dell battery from overcharging would only occur in the very unlikely event of a malfunction of the charging system.
If your laptop battery life still isn't enough and you don't mind carrying the extra weight, bite the bullet and buy a spare. The fact that buying a new Dell battery isn't easy or cheap -- and that most people don't buy a laptop thinking they're going to have replace the battery after a year or two -- is to me evidence that batteries are the laptop industry's dirty little secret that they don't want us to think about too much. If you want to buy a new Dell battery, or other laptop accessories, here are some good choice: Dell D5318 Battery(Li-ion, 9 cells )

Dell D5318 battery rebuild instruction

Laptop battery from some manufacturers have notoriously short lifespans, and the Ni-MH (Nickel Metal Hydride Battery) which replaced NiCd (Nickel Cadmium) in most applications just aren't that much better. So, you can think about crack open the stone dead Dell D5318 Battery back and see if it could be rebuilt. The first thing you'll notice is that Dell laptop battery packs aren't built to be rebuilt, they GLUE the things closed. Took some serious prying to get the thing Dell D5318 battery pack open, but definitely in reusable condition.
There isn't a whole lot to a Dell laptop battery, just a hard plastic shell, enough individual cells to make up the required voltage, and a thermocouple. The black wire scotch-taped between two laptop battery cells is the thermocouple, and it's positioned to measure the air temperature in the Dell D5318 battery pack, not the actual laptop battery surface temperature. Maybe that's why the batteries fail so fast. The only other component in the Dell D5318 battery pack is the little circuit board (below), which has nothing on it but the contacts for the notebook DC circuitry. When you buy a replacement >Dell Laptop Battery, you're just getting a new set of cells to run down.
The individual cells that make up the Dell laptop battery are simply strapped together with little contact strips which are soldered in place. To repair a Dell D5318 battery, you need to replace all the cells and resolder. To cost effectively repair a laptop battery, you'd either need to find the replacement cells wholesale, or be doing it for a laptop whose battery is just ridiculously overpriced to start with. Reviving the old Dell 312-0340 battery

What if the user reports the Dell 312-0340 battery won't hold a charge anymore? The obvious answer is to buy a new dell Laptop Battery, but that isn't always an easy task, especially for a rare, obscure, or outdated model.
According to our experience, no matter how long the laptop is connected to the laptop AC adapter and supposedly charging, the Dell 312-0340 battery status never changes from zero percent charge. Some asks, "Is this likely a laptop battery issue or a failure of the charging circuit?" I immediately thought "bad Dell 312-0340 Battery," because this is exactly what occurred when my laptop battery died.
You are correct, the Dell 312-0340 battery has failed. Specifically, the Dell laptop battery has a memory failure where it refuses to take a charge. You might be able to recover some functionality by connecting a 100-ohm resistor across the battery to completely discharge it and then using a bench charger or power supply to force current into the laptop battery. Search for laptop batteries on the Web; there are many sources for third-party batteries. There may even be a local firm that rebuilds the Dell 312-0340 battery packs. To avoid this, you should run the unit off the Dell laptop battery at least once a month and allow the battery to discharge."

Rebuilding your Dell Inspiron 1520 Battery

Choosing a reputable Dell Laptop Battery is one of the most important factors in the purchase. Believe it or no, all laptop batteries are not created equal. If you have a problem with yours, you want to know you can trust the company to make it right. While with laptop prices falling and no such luck with laptop battery prices, this almost makes sense. But, when your laptop battery can't work. most of us will probably just bite the bullet and buy a new one. The third alternative would be to replace the cells in the Dell Inspiron 1520 Battery you already have.
How to rebuild a Dell Inspiron 1520 Battery?
The first trick is to open the old Dell Inspiron 1520 Battery without destroying the plastic or anything important inside. What you need to do is find where the two parts are glued together and work on the glue line with something sharp until you can open the Dell laptop battery.
In the case of Dell Inspiron 1520 Battery, there are labels over parts of the glue line. So, first cut through the labels with a sharp knife. I then chose to use a wood chisel to first find parts of the plastic that will flex because there is open space behind them and then start opening in these areas. You may have better luck with a utility knife.
There are lots of places that sell replacement laptop battery. One is papatek.com. On their site you will find all the common laptop battery sizes. Assuming you are replacing Dell Inspiron 1520 Battery in an existing pack, you just need to buy regular Dell laptop battery. One thing you do need to watch for, however, is tabs. Typically you can ask to have solder tabs spot welded to the cells. This is the right way to go rather than trying to solder directly to the Dell Inspiron 1520 Battery which could easily damage the seals.
Once you have all the pieces, it is time to actually build the new Dell Inspiron 1520 Battery pack. I cannot empathize enough that an error here can be dangerous. First, you are dealing with laptop battery that if abused, can explode or burn. Additionally, the monitor circuit is always active so you are working on operating electronics. Consider yourself warned. You can find more laptop accessories here: Compaq Presario m2000 Battery(10.8V )

Most good quality Dell Latitude D600 Battery will perform well up to 1000 charge-discharge cycles before its time to dispose of them. But you can follow new tips to increase its lifespan:
1. Using the laptop continuously will increase the temperature inside the machine which reduces Dell Latitude D600 battery life. So it's advisable to give your laptop some rest, at least to cool it off.
2. Reduce the brightness of the monitor. High level of brightness will significantly decrease Dell Laptop Battery life. At the same time decrease the screen resolution and color depth. It does not take long to change these settings on your computer.

How to deal with Toshiba PA2522U battery charging problem

You may always meet the Toshiba PA2522U battery charging problem. It is a new model and we do not have a lot of experience with these laptops. The customer complained that the laptop will not charge the Toshiba PA2522U battery when it is plugged into the AC outlet.
The laptop will not turn on when you try to start it from the Toshiba PA2522U battery. When the laptop is turned off and plugged into the AC outlet the laptop battery charge LED doesn’t light up. You know that the Toshiba PA2522U battery is not charged and the LED should light up when you plug the laptop into the AC outlet. The laptop starts fine when it is plugged. When you move the mouse over the Toshiba Power Icon in the lower right corner, the balloon will pop up and there is a line in there: Toshiba laptop battery Remaining: N/A.
You can easily fix the problem just by updating the BIOS. Toshiba says that the BIOS version should be at least v1.30. So, go to Toshiba PA2522U battery website and click on Downloads. Select your laptop model and find any downloads for the BIOS. In the BIOS change history you will see the description of Toshiba PA2522U battery changes.
Several observations:
1. It used to be that the Toshiba PA2522U battery would recharge best when the computer was closed and in “sleep”. Then, the flashing would never occur, the laptop battery LED would be orange until it charged and went blue. More recently, though, the flashing pink has occurred even when the computer was in sleep.
2. The problem with the charger seems to happen much much less when the Toshiba PA2522U battery is at 100%. That means that my best strategy is to hibernate the computer if I’ve been using it off Toshiba laptop battery power, then plug it in so it charges (including unplugging and replugging if the Toshiba PA2522U battery LED flashes orange) until the laptop battery is back to 100%, and then using it off the AC after that. Even then, sometimes it doesn’t register the laptop ac adapter and the pink flashing happens again, but maybe half the time when the Toshiba PA2522U battery is full it does register the adapter.

Stolen laptops can be costly?

Intel says stolen laptops cost corporate owners more than $100,000 in some cases, in a study announced Wednesday. The study on notebook security, commissioned by Intel and conducted by the Ponemon Institute, states that laptops lost or stolen in airports, taxis, and hotels around the world cost their corporate owners an average of $49,246 "reflecting the value of the enclosed data above the cost of the PC," Intel said.
Analyzing 138 instances of lost and stolen notebooks, the study based the $49,246 price tag on costs associated with replacement, detection, forensics, data breach, lost intellectual property, lost productivity, and legal, consulting and regulatory expenses, Intel said. Data breach alone represents 80 percent of the cost.
Who owns a missing notebook is important, Intel said. It is not the CEO's computer that is the most valued, but a director or manager, according to the study. A senior executive's notebook is valued at $28,449, while a director or manager's notebook is worth $60,781 and $61,040, respectively.
In addition to the obvious need for vigilance, countermeasures include encryption and data-deletion security services. The study found that data encryption makes the most significant difference in the average cost: a lost notebook with an encrypted hard-disk drive is valued at $37,443, compared with $56,165 for a nonencrypted version, the study says.
As my maths teacher says: I won't accept your answer without your working out proof, otherwise it looks like you picked the figures out of the air". Oh who am I kidding the did invent these I doubt these figures have any relevance to real costs just an exercise to exaggerate real costs to persuade us to buy another essential optional extra!
Even in the cases where somebody does try to use/sell the information, the damage is either done or not done; no amount of cash spent by the company that owns the data is going to fix a "data breach". It's a classic low risk/high impact scenario and reducing those to "average" dollar numbers is fallacious.

It is the best time to replace your Compaq battery

If you take your Compaq laptop with you everywhere, it means your Compaq Laptop Battery is getting a lot of wear and tear too. Eventually, you'll either need to replace it or get yourself a backup for those times when your current one just won't last. Now it is the best time to replace it,but how to buy it when you're ready? Here are some good advice.
More and more people are getting their entertainment through their laptop whether it's watching movies, streaming video from the internet or playing games. While it's extremely convenient to take your entertainment with you, using these features kills batteries much faster than the less demanding features. If you want to be able to watch the whole movie or finish the game, you'll want a backup Compaq laptop battery like Compaq Presario R3000 battery or Compaq Presario 2700 battery, to take over when the charge dies on the one you already have.
Those who do business on the road and who take frequent business trips can't afford to have the Compaq Laptop Battery in their laptop die. When you need your laptop to run for several hours while on a flight, you're going to need an extra battery.
There are a few things you need to know before you buy a new one. The most important is to know the model number for your Compaq computer. You can't buy just any Compaq battery and pop it into your laptop, because there are many types of batteries. Not only will it not work, but it could harm your laptop. Most sites out there that sell laptop accessories like Compaq ADP-9510-19A AC Adapter 60W, Compaq K022546A1 keyboard will sort them by make and model number so you can easily find the appropriate one for yours.
Your next step is to check the warranty. Some Compaq laptop batteries come with no warranty while others have up to a one year warranty. In the case of laptop batteries, the longer the warranty, the better off you will be.
