Toshiba Unveils 21-Inch 3D Display and review

Toshiba says its new 21-inch display adopts a lens sheet to control reduction in surface luminance intensity so that it's every bit as bright as a standard 2D display. When it will ship and for how much remains to be seen, but Toshiba isn't alone here. Both Sharp and Hitachi are working on autosterescopic 3D displays of their own, though on a smaller scale.

"To date most 3D products have used special glasses to separate a picture into two images: one for the left eye and the other for the right eye," Toshiba explains. "But the market has strongly desired a more versatile and glasses-free approach that could be used anywhere. This new product employs an integral imaging system (a “light field” display) to reproduce a real object as a 3D image that can be viewed without glasses over a wide range of viewing angles.

Word on the Web is that one or both of these manufacturers will provide the 3D panel for Nintendo's upcoming 3DS handheld. Therefore, the display is suitable for 3D monitors used for advertisements and entertainment appliances."

Here's a buzzword to remember: Autostereoscopic. What is it? Put simply, it's a type of display that allows for 3D content without having to wear any funny looking glasses, and several major manufacturers are jumping on board. Toshiba is one of the first out of the gates with an autostereoscopic high-definition display, which measures 21 inches and supports a 1280x800 pixel resolution

How to find the problem when your Laptop is Failing

Have you ever met the problem when your laptop was going to fail? Perhaps you hear some weird noises coming from the machine. Perhaps your laptop is taking too long to boot up, or maybe the screen is appearing kind of dim. So you need check out where the problem is, below is some guide about it.
Dead Pixels In The Screen. Usually, if you have dead pixels (unlit pixels) in the laptop screen, you can return them to the manufacturer to get a replacement laptop. Battery Power Runs Out Too Fast. Yet another common problem is a battery that runs out of juice within 10 minutes, even though it is fully charged. The problem here, fortunately, is usually with the battery unit and not the laptop itself. So in these circumstances, get yourself a new battery. In certain cases, it could be due to faulty circuitry in the laptop body, though this is rare.
Memory Problems. Laptop memory modules are also prone to failure. When you boot the laptop up, try to check the amount of memory (RAM) available in the machine. If you know your laptop has 2GB of RAM, then the boot up screen or BIOS should show 2GB of RAM. If it shows less, it means you have a faulty memory module - which slows down your system immensely.
Weird Hard Disk Noises. This is the most worrying sign from a laptop - a claking, or loud whirring sound from the laptop hard disk drive. Usually, a whirring hard disk drive means that the drive is starting to falter or fail. You should immediately back up all your important data! I once heard such noises from the laptop hard drive and within 2 days, the disk had crashed. And this tell tale sign of hard drive failure is usually spot on - so please watch out for this one.
